24 weeks

Today I had my 24 week pregnancy visit. Everything is going great, they are growing great, I have gained another 10 pounds in the last month. The doctor checked to see if I have started to dilate, and I'm not. The doctor said 24 weeks is a big milestone because the babies would survive if they were born after this point. But since I'm not dilated, we don't have to worry about them coming too early. I'm measuring 28 cm, which is 4 cm more than my gestational age. The doctor says that is good for twins. In two weeks, I will have my glucose test, hopefully that goes great. In four weeks we will have another ultrasound to see how the little ones are growing. I'm feeling lots of movement of the babies. I'm not completely sure which baby is which, they both seem to move the same amount. About two weeks ago Brian was able to feel the babies move. He was very excited, he said now he knows they are real, and that I'm not faking the pregnancy. hehe
I feel very blessed to have some great friends here in NC. I have been able to borrow lots of clothes for my new changing figure!! :) Hopefully in the next weeks we will have the nursery painted yellow. I'm making a rag rug for the nursery out of an old pair of green sheets. I also have found some forest animal decals that I plan to put up in the nursery.

Completed Projects

Handing Wedding Pictures in the living room

New florescent lights in the garage. There used to be two small lights like the one shown in the right of this pictures. The first picture shows the progress after one new light was installed. Second picture shows both new lights.
Freshly painted master bathroom. I taped off all the edges, and then Brian did the painting. I think I want to find a wall decal to put behind the toilet. I haven't found one I like yet. Brian just hung three towel racks, one for the hand towel and two for our shower towels. We still need to get a new toilet paper holder.

Ladder Golf

Brian has finished yet another wonderful game, Ladder Golf. Here is a few pictures of him making the game: spray painting the pvc pipes(1), drilling holes in golf balls, the mess they make on the floor(black powder on the ground 2) and then putting the pieces together(4).

Brian then got to play the game with a few boys from our life group on Sunday. We had a picnic after church. Then the boys played games afterward.

20 weeks and workbench

20 weeks pregnant! I have made is past the half way mark in the pregnancy and I'm feeling great, a little bigger, but great. I have been feeling some movement mostly on my right side. I think it's the girl, but I'm not hundred percent sure. Our next appointment is next week.

Brian has started a new project his tool bench. He has spent weeks and weeks planning and researching what he wanted for his bench. Here is a few pictures of the progress that he has made in the past two weeks. First, all the wood before he started.

This picture is of the legs, he made all the notched in the wood. His goal with designing the work bench was to make is so that if we ever moved he could easily take apart his work bench and take it with us.

This picture he was showing the spacing of how big the bench was going to be and making sure that the board fit into the notches he made.

18 week ultrasound

Yesterday, Brian and I found out we are having one boy and one girl. We both took a half of day of work, because the ultrasound was scheduled for 1pm. However, we had to wait in the waiting room for an hour before they called us in, no fun. Once they started the ultrasound, I had a hard time, I felt really hot, almost like I was going to faint. I told the technician and she suggested I roll onto my side instead of laying on my back. I definitely felt better after a little bit. She did the rest of the ultrasound while I lied on my side. We were introduced to Twin A first, our little girl. She wouldn't turn her face, so her profile picture is a little blurry.

Next we got to meet Twin B our little boy. He was moving around more so we were able to get cuter pictures. One of his hand and one of the profile pictures his mouth is open.

Both of the babies are growing great. They are about 9 ounces and each have their own umbilical cord and sack. The doctor said that the pregnancy was not considered high risk, so we don't have to go back to the hospital for our next ultrasound. We will be getting an ultrasound once a month, at our regular doctor's office.

We are both very excited after seeing our babies and knowing that they are healthy and growing on schedule.

Doctors Appointment

My doctor appointment went well today. For the first time, since the first ultrasound I got to hear both heart beats, which was great. The Doctor said one was 150 and the other 160 beats per min. He said that those were both good. I also schedule our level 2 ultrasound. It will be Feb. 26th. The count down begins until we find out the gender of our two little bundles of joy, 11 days! God is good! :)

16 weeks

We have made it to four months, almost half way. Our next doctors appointment is Monday. Brian will be unable to attend this appointment because he will be gone for another week at training. Hopefully after this appointment we will be able to schedule our big ultrasound appointment. I have been feeling great!

We have started buying a few big things for the babies room. We have two cribs and two car seats. We moved our extra bed into my craft room. It is a little tight in that room, but I think it works.

We also have bought new living room furniture: couch and a loveseat. The old couch Brian moved into is office. We almost have the house decorated. I need to get some wedding pictures printed to hang on the wall behind the couch. We also want to get a different end table and a coffee table. We just need to find a set me like.

Here is a few pictures of Brian working on the upstairs guest bathroom. He is putting in a new curved shower curtain.

I just completed my first full week of school at my new school. Some days were better than others, but I have survived and I think it will be a good rest of the year. I just have some really talkative boys, especially in one class. I do miss my well behaved sixth graders.

It snowed again today in NC, we have about 4 inches of snow. After our last storm, the snow had melted but it is back today. This is the most snow I have seen in NC.
